Heat source modeling in welding using X-FEM

Classical models of heat input in welding simulations use the Goldak model, which in part represents a mixture of welding pool modeling and heat input, e.g., wire-arc energy. In this project, the welding pool is modeled using X-FEM and a suitable heat source model is developed.
