Consistent space-time discretisation of thermomechanically coupled structures using Rosenbrock-type methods

A.-W. Hamkar, St. Hartmann

In this project so-called time integration procedures of Rosenbrock-type have to be applied to thermo-mechanically conpled initial boundary-value problems which result from finite element discretisation. In contrast to classical implicit schemes, this iterationless procedure shows to be much more efficient than classical finite element implementations. The profit lies about 70-80% to Backward-Euler similar implementations. The applications are done to elastomeric materials, i.e. constitutive models of finite strain thermo-viscoelasticity.
