Numerical simulation of unsteady flow phenomena in a high-performance radial fan

The aim of the project is the investigation of flow instabilities in high-speed high-performance fans. These systems are typically used in process industries for vapor compression. Unsteady effects can result in such aggregates to a reduction in efficiency and increased structural stress and damage due to resonance. With the help of numerical calculations to control the flow of the possibilities will be explored and evaluated. To predict the unsteady separation processes can have high turbulence models are used.
